Today's cars are complex machines with GPS navigation, LCD screens, DVD players and iPods. However, all these technological marvels century 21 are still at the mercy of the car battery and electrical systems of automobiles. Car batteries have improved over the years, but the technology is basically the same. You can use a car battery tester in different temperature conditions, but must make up the difference in their calculations.
If the car battery is completely discharged, you will need to recharge using a suitable charger car battery. Do not attempt to use a type of fast charger battery charger if yours is in this condition. These types of battery chargers use of a car running high for quick results. This high current can damage sensitive plates in your battery when it is in a totally discharged. Another method to avoid is just to get a pair of jumper cables and start the dead car and then let the alternator recharge it. Your car's alternator not a car battery charger and can not recharge a fully discharged battery without getting damaged.
Be sure to let the battery cool at room temperature. People often forget the heat that gets inside the engine compartment, especially in the summer months. That goes for the cold weather too. May have to let the battery warm to room temperature. Batteries perform differently at temperature extremes and therefore the importance of using temperature as the standard to accurately measure them.
